About Lydia

I am a piano teacher with over 9 years of experience and an Associate of Music in Piano Skills. I help students prepare for church worship leading, accompanying community theater, or performing in professional wedding bands.

My lessons are personalized and motivating, designed to meet each student’s musical goals. I focus on technique, musical expression, and building confidence at the keyboard. Students learn practical skills for accompaniment, improvisation, and ensemble performance.

I guide students in sight-reading, chord voicings, and rhythmic accuracy. Lessons include strategies for supporting singers, following conductors, and adapting to different musical styles. I emphasize hands-on practice and real-world application.

Whether leading worship, supporting a theater production, or performing at weddings, my goal is to make students versatile and confident pianists. Lessons combine technical drills with creative musical exercises.

I encourage students to explore their musical style, develop stage presence, and enjoy playing. Together, we work on performance skills, musicality, and ensemble readiness. I invite students to start learning with me and bring their musical ambitions to life.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on making music theory both understandable and practical. I cover fundamentals, chord progressions, inversions, and harmonic analysis, showing students how theory directly applies to the keyboard.

I work with exam takers and classical performers, giving lessons tailored to their goals. Students learn to analyze harmonies, recognize patterns, and understand how chords create musical movement. Each session balances technical exercises with hands-on application.

I guide students in applying theory to performance, improvisation, and composition. Lessons include exercises on chord inversions, progressions, and creating harmonic variations. Students gain a deeper understanding of how music works while improving their playing.
