About Savannah
Hi, I'm Savannah! Physics fascinated me from the moment my middle school teacher explained how a simple microwave oven uses electromagnetic waves to heat food and I realized physics was happening in my kitchen every single morning. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Physics Education (B.S.) from the University of Alabama, where I studied theoretical and applied physics and was part of the university's Science Education Community Outreach Program. With 5 years of experience, I have helped over 230 happy students work through everything from basic middle school motion and forces to advanced thermodynamics, nuclear physics, and introductory quantum mechanics at AP and college freshman level. Most of my AP Physics students earned strong scores and received direct college credit. I was awarded the Physics Education Excellence Award by the University of Alabama College of Science for my creative and highly effective approach to making physics exciting and completely understandable for every student. I always lead with real-world examples and teach the concept before the formula — because that is the approach that works every single time.
