About Miles

I am a dedicated ESL tutor with 8 years of experience teaching high school and college students, committed to helping learners achieve both language proficiency and academic success. My teaching methodology is centred on personalisation, ensuring that every lesson is carefully designed to meet the student’s unique goals, interests, and learning style.

I integrate structured grammar and vocabulary instruction with interactive speaking, writing, and listening exercises, all supported by real-life examples and practical applications. I excel at creating a positive, motivating learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring ideas, asking questions, and practising without fear of mistakes.

Over the past 8 years, I have helped countless students improve their fluency, build confidence, enhance academic performance, and develop the communication skills necessary for success in higher education and beyond.

About the lesson

My ESL teaching philosophy emphasises Creativity, Communication, Compassion, and Problem-solving (C³P). Creativity is promoted through storytelling, role-playing, and interactive projects that encourage learners to think independently and express themselves confidently in English.

Communication is reinforced through group discussions, debates, and collaborative exercises that strengthen speaking, listening, and comprehension skills. Compassion ensures lessons are personalised according to each student’s learning style, providing support, feedback, and encouragement to foster motivation and growth.

Problem-solving is integrated through scenario-based tasks, real-world exercises, and critical thinking activities that teach students to apply English effectively while enhancing analytical skills. I also cover related subjects such as reading comprehension, academic writing, and vocabulary building to provide holistic development.

This methodology helps learners become confident, creative, empathetic, and capable of using English successfully in academic, professional, and everyday settings.
