I specialize in helping learners develop their English reading skills, from basic word recognition to intermediate-level reading. I also provide guidance in progressing from reading simple sentences to understanding and reading complete paragraphs.
I am particularly interested in teaching primary-level learners because I believe that strong foundations are essential for long-term academic success. My approach focuses on gradually building a learner’s confidence and independence through guided practice. One method I use is a gradual progression from reading together, to reading with guidance, and eventually reading independently. This allows learners to develop their word recognition, pronunciation, fluency, and confidence at their own pace.
For sentence and paragraph reading, I use scaffolding strategies to break lessons into manageable steps. By providing appropriate support and gradually reducing assistance, learners can develop the skills and confidence needed to read independently.
For me, being a tutor is not simply about teaching lessons. It is about understanding and responding to each learner’s individual needs. I believe that effective tutoring should prioritize not only academic progress but also the learner’s confidence, comfort, and overall well-being. My goal is to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment where every learner feels encouraged to improve and succeed.
