About Braelyn

Hi! I’m Braelyn, founder of Building Brains Learning, where I help K–5 students not just learn math, but truly understand the concepts behind it. My goal is to make math logical and intuitive so kids don’t feel like they have to memorize everything - they can think through problems with confidence. I specialize in helping children master: • Numbers & operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals) • Geometry & measurement • Data, patterns, and problem-solving At Building Brains Learning, I create personalized sessions that break concepts into simple, manageable steps, using real-world examples to make learning meaningful and fun. I want your child to not only get the right answer, but also understand why it’s right - building strong, lasting math skills and confidence.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m Braelyn - a patient, creative K–5 math tutor who helps kids build confidence and master foundational math skills.

I specialize in helping young learners understand and succeed in:

Numbers & Operations
• Counting, place value, and number sense
• Addition and subtraction (single- and multi-digit)
• Multiplication and division facts
• Fractions: equivalent fractions, comparing, adding/subtracting like fractions
• Decimals (tenths and hundredths)
• Problem-solving with word problems

Geometry & Measurement
• Shapes (2D and 3D)
• Perimeter, area, and volume
• Angles, symmetry, and basic spatial reasoning
• Measurement: length, weight, time, and money

Data & Patterns
• Simple graphs and charts
• Mean, median, and mode (intro level)
• Recognizing patterns and sequences

Algebra Readiness
• Understanding variables and simple expressions
• Introduction to basic equations (grade-appropriate)
• Logical thinking and problem-solving strategies

My tutoring approach:
Break math concepts into easy, digestible steps
Use visual aids and real-life examples
Build confidence through consistent practice and small wins
Keep sessions structured but relaxed
