Justine is one of our best French tutors. High-quality profile and excellent qualifications, organised and responsive to lesson requests, appreciated by their students!

About Justine

Hi from a globe trotter, dream-chaser, Business student, Native French tutor with roots in Quebec City and aspirations that have led me to the vibrant streets of NYC! My adventure has been one of constant learning, from my undergraduate journey in Business Marketing to my travels across continents—from the historical depths of Asia to the rhythmic shores of Jamaica and the verdant landscapes of South America. These experiences have not only expanded my worldview but have also instilled in me a profound appreciation for the universal language of kindness.

Two years in and out of NYC have transformed me, fulfilling my desire to master English and making me proudly bilingual. This personal journey through language learning—full of both challenges and victories—has enriched my teaching philosophy, allowing me to connect with my students on a deeply empathetic level. I understand the intricacies of learning a new language, having lived through them myself, and I bring this understanding to every lesson.

Teaching French goes beyond mere instruction for me; it's about sharing my passion for the language and forging genuine connections with each student. I cherish the unique personality and perspective every child brings to the table, treating them not just as learners but as young adventurers eager to explore the linguistic landscape.

With over 15 years of immersion in French and a successful quest to become bilingual, I offer a blend of linguistic expertise, cultural insight, and an open-hearted approach to teaching.

As we embark on this exciting linguistic adventure together, I promise to be more than just a tutor; I'll be a mentor, a guide, and a friend. Let's make learning French a joyful and enriching part of your child's journey.

About the lesson

My lessons are carefully tailored to match each child's learning pace and interests, featuring interactive activities, personalized goal-setting, and a comprehensive curriculum. But beyond grammar and vocabulary, I aim to inspire my students with the confidence to explore new languages and cultures, encouraging them to dream big and embrace the world with kindness and curiosity.

Here’s what sets our learning journey apart:

- Personalized Lesson Plan: Together, we’ll discover your unique learning style and craft lessons that align perfectly with it. Your journey through French will be one-of-a-kind, tailored just for you.

- Initial Assessment: We begin with a simple test to understand your current level in French, ensuring that our lessons start off on the right foot and progress at a pace comfortable for you.

- Incorporating Interests: Lessons come alive when they resonate with you personally. We’ll weave your interests into our classes, making learning not only relevant but also exciting.

- Goal Setting: Together, we’ll set achievable goals, creating milestones that motivate and guide our journey through the French language.

- Tracking Progress: Regular check-ins will help us measure your growth and adjust our approach as needed, ensuring you’re always moving forward and feeling challenged.

- Flexible Learning: Life is full of surprises, and our lessons can adapt.
- Study Skills and Techniques: Beyond French, you’ll learn how to learn. I’ll equip you with study skills and techniques that benefit you academically across the board.

- Interactive Classes: Engage with the language through dynamic PowerPoint presentations and interactive activities that make each lesson memorable and fun.

- Homework That Reinforces: After each lesson, you’ll receive homework designed to reinforce what we’ve covered, ensuring the learning doesn’t stop when the class does.

My approach to learning French encompasses speaking, grammar, vocabulary, writing, and reading, ensuring a well-rounded mastery of the language. Every step of the way, you’re not just learning French; you’re learning how to embrace new challenges with confidence and curiosity.

FOR BEGINNERS - Embrace the Basics of French

Embarking on your French language journey with me means starting with a solid foundation. My beginner-friendly approach is designed to make you comfortable and confident in using French from the get-go. Here’s what my beginner students can look forward to:

- Start Speaking French: Jump right into speaking French from the very first lesson. We focus on practical, conversational skills that you can use in real-life situations.

- Master Basic Grammar Rules: Understanding the framework of the language is key. We simplify French grammar, making it accessible and less intimidating for beginners.

- Learn Common Phrases and Vocabulary: Equip yourself with a toolkit of common phrases and essential vocabulary. This practical approach ensures you can start communicating in French quickly.

- Reading in French: Dive into reading with materials tailored to your level. This not only enhances your vocabulary but also familiarizes you with the rhythm and flow of French.

- Understand the Structure of the Language: Gain insights into how French is structured, giving you a clearer understanding of how sentences are formed and how the language functions.

- Pronunciation Rules: French pronunciation can be tricky, but I got you covered. Learn the rules and sounds of French to ensure you’re understood when you speak.

- Discover French Sounds: French has its own set of unique sounds. We’ll guide you through these, helping you to sound more like a native speaker.

My beginner program is designed to build your confidence, making French accessible and enjoyable. You’ll find yourself making progress quickly, with each lesson designed to build on the previous one, ensuring a seamless learning experience.
