Hi! I'm currently a teacher at a high school and have been here for five years now since I qualified as a teacher. I teach English at KS3 and KS4 as well as Media Studies at AS and A Level. I absolutely love teaching and have never wanted to do anything else!
I'm quite easy going and build good, solid relationships with my students quite quickly from working together and talking through work. This is really important, otherwise the teaching and learning process wouldn't work.
I am very enthusiastic about my subjects, having done both of them at University. Before completing my PGCE, I studied for a BA Hons English with Media and Cultural Studies at UWE, Bristol. At A level I studied English Literature, French and German, with Philosophy and Ethics at AS Level. I achieved 10 GCSEs - 5 As, 2 Bs and 2 Cs.
Learning doesn't work unless it is a two way street between student and teacher, but it also doesn't work if it is dull and unengaging. I aim to create learning in a way that students to relate to and insert my enthusiasm into my teaching to try to make it more interesting.
