About Desmon
Hi, I'm Desmon, a student doing my Master of TESOL study at Waikato University and am about to graduate by the end of this year. Based on what I've learned from the university about language teaching and acquisition during my Master study, I'm confident to teach and help you with your English study.
As for me, if I can get this role, I am willing to use this as an opportunity to gain teaching experience as well as keep improving my ESL teaching skills.

During my Master study, I've not only systematically studied about ESL teaching theories and practices, but have also done a one-week practicum English teaching at the language school of Waikato University giving individual lessons to international students required by my tutor of my Master-level theory paper. I've also worked as a part-time English teaching assistant at a supplemental school during the COVID-19 period back to China for about a year. What is more, I've also worked as an online home tutor teaching my sister's son (who has just graduated from middle school and is about to begin his high school study in September 2026) to remember his vocabulary list effectively over the past June 2026.
