About Darbi

Throughout high school, I was self-schooled and learned how to teach myself every subject to the state's standards. I volunteered at the local library for 4 years and assisted in every youth program available. I have a recorded SAT score of 1350 (out of the 1600 possible at the time) with most of that being from my English prowess. My thirst for knowledge didn't end with English, however, as it led me to study seven different languages (Spanish, French, and Italian being the primary trio) in order to better understand how a diverse community approaches language rules in general. Therefore, any who speak English as a second language are more than welcome to learn from me.

About the lesson

I'm a 27-year-old language-obsessed writer and English Education student based in Virginia. I take a kind and patient approach to tutoring, gained from tutoring my younger 6 siblings throughout middle and high school. Each sibling had a different learning and communication speed and style, as well as their own barriers to overcome. I intend to not simply explain how grammar works, but how you are brilliant and intelligent enough to solve these problems no matter what barriers or inherent issues you may have standing in your way. After each lesson with me, you will not only feel closer to your goal; you will feel a sense of pride in yourself and your unique mind.

I think Darbi is a great help when you struggle with English, her tutoring has helped me with many things in the past. She has helped me with with my grammar and spelling, writing skills,
Poetic skills, and even reading! One reason you should choose Darbi as your tutor is because she not only helps with your English performance dramatically but she is also fun to be around, making lessons more exciting to sit through. Another great reason is Darbi can help you read if you struggle to keep up on books, are a slow reader, and don’t understand the story! So in my opinion, Darbi would be the perfect choice to lead you through your learning journey!
