About Yuki

Hi, I’m Yuki! I am currently studying Physics with Medical Physics at University College London (UCL), having recently completed the IB Diploma.

Having gone through the IB myself very recently, I understand how challenging it can be to balance difficult content, exam preparation and multiple subjects at the same time. I achieved a 7 in Mathematics AA HL and now want to use both my academic experience and knowledge of the IB system to help other students achieve their goals.

I have experience tutoring IB students across different ability levels, from students struggling with fundamental concepts to those looking to strengthen their exam technique and achieve higher grades.

As someone who has studied internationally, I am fluent in both English and Japanese and am comfortable teaching in either language. My goal is to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and gradually becoming more confident working independently.

About the lesson

I specialise in IB Mathematics and Physics, with a particular focus on helping students understand difficult concepts while also developing the exam technique needed to improve their grades.

Having recently completed the IB Diploma myself, achieving a 7 in Mathematics AA HL, I have a strong understanding of the current IB syllabus, past papers, mark schemes and the challenges students commonly face. I am currently studying Physics with Medical Physics at University College London (UCL).

My lessons are tailored to each student. I usually begin by identifying areas of weakness, explain the underlying concepts clearly, and then work through targeted questions and IB past-paper problems. Rather than simply showing students the solution, I encourage them to work through problems independently with guidance so that they can eventually approach unfamiliar questions with confidence.

I have experience tutoring IB Mathematics AA HL/SL and Physics SL students with a range of abilities, including students working towards significant improvements in their predicted and examination grades.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged for intensive revision or exam preparation. I can teach in both English and Japanese.
