About Sophia
Hello! My name is Sophia Phelps and I'm a student at UCLA. I am from Arlington, VA, which is in the DC-area.
I graduated as valedictorian from my high school, in Arlington, VA. I got a 5 on my AP Exams and received all A's throughout high school.
I love physics, math, and especially astronomy. I value education and I want to help others appreciate it as well. I have been tutoring for around 4 years with students between ages 5-17.

I do not follow a particular teaching method, I like to do what is best for the student. My most typical approach is helping students with their homework or I create worksheets for them to complete in between sessions. Prior to helping a student with problems, I like to walk them through a sample problem to help them understand how to approach a problem. A typical lesson is an hour long.
I can help with math classes up to AP Calculus BC and physics classes up to AP Physics C. I am also offering SAT Math prep!
