About Anna
I graduated from St. Francis High School with high honors throughout eight semesters, receiving a "5" on the AP literature test, and AP World and US History tests. I currently attend Boston University, and have completed my freshman year with high honors in both semesters while majoring in cultural anthropology and minoring in journalism. I have been a student-athlete throughout middle and high school, and I currently compete for Boston University track and cross country programs. After tutoring my younger brother throughout my time in high school, I expanded to tutoring locally in English literature and social studies.

I prefer a "hands-on" approach to learning, and I am a firm believer in the power of positive reinforcement in the process of understanding concepts. I aim to create a learning environment where all questions are comfortable, with the student being guided to conclusions through open communication with me. Depending on what the student needs, a typical lesson plan could differ; every person learns differently, and I hold myself accountable to accommodate all of my students' specific methods of understanding. It brings me great joy to share knowledge in subject areas that interest me, and I deeply enjoy the process of guiding students to understanding. I specialize with younger children, from first to fifth grade, but I am also proficient with subject matter from sixth to ninth grade. I teach English literature, creative and essay writing, and history/social studies.
