About Katy
I have been a English teacher for several years now and before that taught Science. I love gaining new knowledge and the accomplishment one feels.
My love of English stems from my love of reading and creative writing. I love a novel that explores the use of language in creative ways such as through the use of figurative language and the development of characters and setting through action.
I hope to pass my passion for writing, whether it be creative, persuasive or analytical, on to my students and see their own passion flourish.

My English lessons typically consist of a scaffolded approach to support student understand and growth. I aim to support students in building their self-confidence and commitment to learning.
I can supply tutoring for any level of high school, including foundation, general and ATAR upper school support.
I have been teaching English for several years now as well as Science before that so I have a comprehensive understanding of assessments and expectations in student work.
I am happy to supply complete lessons (1-2 hours) to build core skills such as essay writing, creative writing, persuasive writing or even grammar basics. I can also support students with upcoming assessments to improve their understanding of the task and teach editing and proofreading skills.
