About Katie
I’ve always enjoyed English and the way it encourages you to think, analyse, and express ideas. Over time I’ve found that I really enjoy explaining concepts to others and helping them feel more confident with the subject, whether that’s working through texts or demystifying exam technique. I completed my A-levels in 2024 so can very clearly remember the complete stress of attempting to improve my exam skills, and can also recall experiencing the same at GCSEs. However with the right planning and revision I am now aware that it doesn't need to be so stressful, and can actually be pretty simple! So I would love to be able to aid other students who may need some extra help.

My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching - I believe the best tutoring is personal, so I adapt my lessons to suit each student’s learning style and goals. My aim is to build confidence, strengthen key skills, and make English feel more manageable. This can involve breaking down exam questions, practising essay planning, or working through texts together in a clear and structured way. I encourage discussion and independent thinking, but I also provide plenty of guidance and feedback to keep students on track. Qualifications and Experience - I am currently tutoring my younger brother for his GCSE English exams, which has given me hands-on experience helping someone understand difficult ideas and prepare for assessments. Alongside this, I have a strong academic background in English and a clear understanding of the GCSE and A level requirements. Who My Lessons Are For - I offer lessons for secondary school students working towards GCSE and A level English (generally ages 14–18). Whether you want to boost confidence, secure a pass, or refine skills to reach the highest grades, I can adapt lessons to support your individual needs.
