About Saumishthaa

Hi!
I'm Saumishthaa aka Sam. As a first-year Physics student at the University of Glasgow, I am on a mission to show younger learners that Maths and Physics aren't just daunting formulae—they are the ultimate toolkits for understanding how the world works. I specialise in online tutoring for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 students (Years 6 to 9 / ages 10–14). This age group is at a crucial turning point, and my goal is to build strong foundational confidence and curiosity before high school pressures kick in.
In our sessions, we turn tricky algebra and abstract forces into interactive visual puzzles using digital whiteboards, matching your child's exact school pace. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into bite-sized "aha!" moments so learning feels like an exciting discovery rather than a chore. As a verified university student, I offer a free first introductory session so we can meet, discuss your child's goals, and see if we are a great fit—with zero pressure!

About the lesson

Maths and Physics are basically the ultimate superpowers for understanding how our world works! Far from being just static formulae on a page, these two subjects reveal the hidden logic behind everything around us—from how smartphones process data and how rollercoasters loop, to why planets orbit the sun. Getting a strong, confident grip on these ideas during the Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 years turns what can seem like a confusing maze into an exciting playground of discovery.
Building that foundation early makes a massive difference because STEM subjects build on themselves like a tower. When young learners master core algebra, forces, and spatial thinking early on, tricky high school topics suddenly feel like fun puzzles rather than intimidating hurdles. Instead of memorising steps for a test, students start developing a sharp, creative problem-solving mindset that trains their brains to think critically, tackle challenges head-on, and make bold connections.

Nurturing that spark of curiosity early on unlocks incredible doors for the future.
