About Meghan
I am a Crisis Intervention Specialist with three years experience in a level 3 locked door psychiatric facility where I am responsible for facilitation of psycho-educational groups on DBT skills and application, and milieu management. My education background includes Psychology and Social Work at Western Kentucky University and additional certifications as a Registered Behavioral Technician and Safety Care Management.

Lessons include trauma informed care approach to DBT coaching, de-escalation, and stress management. Can be applied to psychology studies, used to expand professional resume, and can be applied to own stress management or crisis management. Typical lesson plan will include introduction of DBT skill, breakdown of how and when to apply skill, explanation of why skill is effective, and recognition of early warning signs (verbal and non-verbal) to know when to implement de-escalation using skill set. Lessons can be amended to apply to any level of education. Teaching method includes lecture and open Q&A using an understanding approach.
