About Yuri

I graduated from UCSB with a bachelor's degree in math and then soon after graduated with a master's in education. I am a credentialed teacher in math and have experience with teaching students. I have had in classroom experience teaching K-12 math and have also tutored fellow classmates during my time at UCSB. I can relate to the difficulties that come with learning math but I am confident that I can be a HUGE help as your tutor. I am patient and kind, and I believe that everyone can learn math, sometimes all it takes is techniques/tricks to solve the problems.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to help you understand the math concepts. You can't understand math if you don't solve problems. Thus, my lessons include exercises to help you learn techniques in order to solve similar math problems in the future. I am patient and understand that math can be frustrating. I am here to alleviate the stress and make sure you get a good grade in your math class. I am a credentialed California math teacher and have three years of experience teaching students in the classroom. I have learned what helps students and what doesn't. I have helped students by raising their scores by 3 letter grades, some of my students have gone from D's to A's! I can help with your homework or with test practices. She’s been AMAZING. My son is been struggling with math for about 3 years now (he’s a sophomore) He started tutoring with Yuri two months ago and he’s been doing very good. She explains to him very well, she understands his needs and she’s very patient. My son never felt that way before from any of his teachers. Before he used to fail all his tests and now he’s even surprise that he’s been passing and not only that his confidence is back all because of her. Thanks to her, he’s not failing his math class! I recommend her 100% we are very happy and grateful for all her help.

Hire her now! I was looking for an in person tutor but Yuri was reasonably priced and had good reviews so I decided to give virtual tutoring for my son a shot. He went from D grades on math tests to As in a matter of 2 weeks and maybe 5 sessions! It was also really great for his self esteem. Yuri is really wonderful and I recommend her highly!
