About Soumya
I’m a freelance filmmaker, writer, and creative professional with a passion for storytelling in all its forms. Writing has been a part of my life since childhood, and I have explored everything from prose and short stories to poetry and screenwriting. I studied Creative Writing during my Bachelor’s degree and have continued developing my writing alongside my work in filmmaking and directing.
My poetry has been published in different magazines, and I have also had a review published. I enjoy sharing the knowledge and perspective I’ve gained through years of writing and filmmaking, and helping others explore their own creativity and become more confident in expressing their ideas.

My creative writing classes are flexible, interactive, and shaped around each student’s interests, goals, and level. We can explore different forms of writing, from prose and short stories to poetry and screenwriting, while working on ideas, structure, character development, language, and finding your own voice.
I believe writing is best learned by writing, experimenting, discussing, and receiving thoughtful feedback. I use examples, conversation, creative exercises, and practical writing activities to make lessons engaging rather than overly rigid. My classes are suitable for beginners as well as students who already write and want to develop their skills further.
