About Steven
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Correction with a minor in psychology, and a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in TESOL. I also have a Lifetime California Teaching Credential and I taught high school EFL in Japan for two years. In addition, I have several years' experience teaching ESL at the post-secondary level here in the US.
Additionally, I worked over 20 years as a mental health wellness educator where I enhanced my skills in the psychology of goal setting and overcoming obstacles to personal growth. I have been lauded for my gift for creating learning environments that foster the greatest growth and empowerment of my students.

I use a combination of a natural and specific skills approaches in my teaching. I adapt lessons to the learning style of the student and emphasize the importance of pronunciation in developing better speaking skills. The lessons are always adapted to the interests of the student and having fun in learning is essential to me.
