About Axelle

I am a creative and pedagogical French instructor with experience teaching children and beginner learners through private tutoring and summer camp programs. Currently enrolled in the Preparatory Year of the Bachelor of Business Administration at HEC Montréal, I am passionate about education and helping students build confidence in French.

I have worked as a French teacher, private tutor, and summer camp counselor with English-speaking children of different ages and levels. My teaching style is structured, interactive, and engaging, combining rigor with fun activities to support progress in speaking, writing, listening, and reading comprehension.

One of my most effective experiences was a private tutoring session where I created a restaurant simulation with a printed menu, helping students practice real-life French conversation in a fun and immersive way.

Patient, reliable, and enthusiastic, I adapt each lesson to the student’s level and learning style to make French learning both effective and enjoyable.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to make French both practical and enjoyable from the very first session. I focus on real-life communication, helping students gain confidence quickly through interactive and structured activities adapted to their level.

For example, in one private tutoring session, I taught students how to order food in a formal French restaurant setting. I created a realistic experience by printing a custom menu so they could practice speaking and responding as if they were in a real restaurant. This kind of immersive activity helps students learn useful vocabulary and build confidence in real situations.

I also work on developing strong writing skills through guided exercises, while keeping lessons engaging and accessible. My approach combines structure, repetition, and creativity to ensure steady progress without overwhelming the student.

Whether it’s speaking, listening, reading, or writing, I adapt each lesson to the learner’s needs and goals, making French learning dynamic, motivating, and effective.
