About Lydia
Bonjour! I’m a bilingual French and English speaker, born and raised in France and educated entirely in the French school system. My deep connection to the language and culture comes from growing up immersed in it, and I’m passionate about helping others discover the beauty of French. Having lived in the UK for some time now, I’ve decided to start teaching French as a way to stay connected to the language I love. I know how nerve-wracking it can be to learn a new language—feeling shy or afraid of making mistakes is natural. That’s why I want to focus on creating a warm, friendly environment where you can feel comfortable, make all the necessary mistakes, and truly learn. Based in Islington, I prefer to meet in a cosy café nearby but am happy to travel for accessibility needs or special requests. My goal is to make French lessons a fun, engaging experience that leaves you feeling confident and inspired. Let’s learn together :)

I like to meet in cosy cafés around Islington to create a warm, social atmosphere, but I’m happy to adjust the location for accessibility needs or other preferences. Perfect! Have had about 6 months of lessons with Lydia, and they are such a lovely part of my week! We meet in a pub after work as I'm not available during the day, and my lessons are completely catered to the type of conversations I need as well as Lydia helping me out with a few additional bits before I go away to France and debrief when I get back Anyway Lydia is lovely, knowledgeable and very helpful!!
