About Bosco

My name is Bosco, and I am a sophomore at Cornell University pursuing a degree in Biology and Society. I am a National Merit Finalist and was admitted to several highly selective universities, including Cornell University, the University of Michigan, and UC San Diego. I am interested in pursuing a career in medicine and public health. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing tennis and recently began competing in dragon boat racing. In addition to tutoring mathematics, I have helped students navigate the college admissions process through application strategy, essay development, and general advising.

I began tutoring four years ago and now work primarily with high school students. My experience spans Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics. I enjoy helping students build confidence in challenging subjects and develop the problem-solving skills needed to succeed independently. My goal is to provide structured, personalized support that meets students where they are and helps them make consistent academic progress.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed primarily for high school students and are tailored to each student's coursework, goals, and areas of difficulty. Rather than following a fixed curriculum, I typically build sessions around what students are currently learning in class, helping them review concepts, complete assignments, prepare for exams, and strengthen their understanding of challenging material. I think of tutoring as structured office hours rather than introducing entirely new content.

My approach varies depending on the student, but I generally start by helping them visualize the problem and systematically build a framework for solving it. I focus on developing problem-solving skills and conceptual understanding rather than memorization so that students can confidently approach unfamiliar questions on their own. I work with students in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics, and I also offer college admissions guidance. Whether a student is looking to improve grades, prepare for an exam, or develop stronger study habits, my goal is to provide targeted support that complements their classroom learning.
