About Yiolanda

Yiolanda Loizou is a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Limassol, Cyprus, currently based in London, UK. She completed her undergraduate studies in Classical Guitar Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under Graham Devine, supported by awards from the Finzi Trust, Wolfson Foundation Trust, and Henry Wood Accommodation Trust. In 2019–2020, she received a full merit-based scholarship to pursue advanced music theory and analysis under Myro Solomou. She is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Classical Guitar Performance at Trinity Laban. Yiolanda has performed as a soloist and ensemble musician at venues and festivals across Europe, including Pattihio Theatre, National Maritime Museum, Queen’s House Museum, and New Lights Festival. She has also participated in masterclasses with some of the world’s leading guitarists, such as Paul Galbraith and John Mills. She performs in various styles with different ensembles, holds residencies at renowned London venues, and regularly performs across London. Her recording credits include George Synnos’ album Ola Allazoun and the Apocalypse EP by Nysiādes. Alongside her active performance career, Yiolanda has several years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages and levels. She has been recognised nationally for excellence in literature and music composition, winning awards such as First Prize in the 1st Pancyprian Literary Competition in memory of Theodoulos Kallinikos and in the 3rd Pancyprian Ancient Cypriot Literature Competition, as well as prizes in the Pancyprian Giannis Ritsos and Kostas Montis Poetry-to-Music Composition Contests.

About the lesson

Yiolanda is a passionate, friendly, and experienced music teacher offering private lessons in guitar and music theory for students of all ages and levels. She also provides beginner lessons in singing, ukulele, mandolin, and songwriting.

With years of teaching experience in private and school settings, including tutoring guitar chamber ensembles at the Royal Greenwich Guitar Festivals, many of her students have earned awards and scholarships.

Typical lessons last one hour and are tailored to each student’s goals and learning style, delivered in a fun, supportive, and inspiring environment. Lessons are available both in-person and online and can take place either at her teaching studio or at your place if you are local.

Individual Guitar Tuition:

Exam Preparation:
- Support for ABRSM, Trinity, Rockschool, and other exam boards

- Assistance with exam preparation, composition, and analysis to develop musical fluency

Beginner Ukulele and Mandolin Lessons:

Singer-Guitarist Tutoring:
