About Meena
Hi, I'm Meena Bisht. I have been teaching students since 2015, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I hold a BA in Journalism from Kamala Nehru College, DU, an MA in Sociology from JNU, and am currently pursuing my PhD at South Asian University. Beyond academics, my grassroots work with the Jan Suraaj campaign in Bihar and volunteering with Kitaab Club in Uttarakhand have given me a deep understanding of diverse learning needs. I am patient, approachable, and committed to making every student feel heard, supported, and motivated to learn.

My teaching approach is student-centric and adaptive. I believe every learner is unique, so I tailor my methods to their individual needs and learning style. I focus on building conceptual clarity through real-world examples, storytelling, and interactive discussions rather than rote memorization. I use the Socratic method to encourage critical thinking and help students arrive at answers themselves.
A typical class begins with a quick recap of the previous session, followed by introducing the new topic with a relatable question or example. I then explain the concept step by step, using diagrams, stories, or current events to make it engaging. The final 10 minutes are for discussion, questions, and a short exercise to assess understanding. I end with a summary and assign a small task for the next class.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect academic concepts to real-world realities, drawn from my background in journalism, sociology, and grassroots work in Bihar and Uttarakhand. I am patient, approachable, and create a safe space for students to ask questions freely. I also provide personalized notes and regular progress updates.
My classes are intended for school children (Classes 6–12), college students, and adult learners in Social Sciences, Humanities and related subjects.
