About Utkarsh
I am a Computer Science and Data Science undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh with hands-on experience teaching, mentoring, and applying technical skills in real-world settings. I previously served as the Regional Director of Operations at Steel City Codes, where I designed lesson plans and taught programming concepts such as Python, Java, web development, and Scratch to over 70 students, helping learners of all backgrounds understand complex topics clearly and confidently. In addition to tutoring, I have professional experience as a Software Engineer Intern, where I built scalable automation systems and data pipelines, giving me strong insight into how concepts taught in class are used in practice. I bring a structured, patient, and professional approach to every lesson, with a focus on clarity, problem-solving, and building long-term academic confidence.

My teaching style focuses on breaking complex problems into smaller, manageable steps so students truly understand the material rather than memorizing it. Each lesson starts by reviewing fundamentals, then builds up to solving problems step-by-step, with plenty of guided practice and clear explanations. I adapt my approach to each student’s learning style and make difficult concepts simple and intuitive. As a computer science undergraduate, I know where students struggle and how to explain concepts in a way that finally “clicks.” My lessons are ideal for middle/high school and undergraduate students, especially those wanting to study STEM subjects, who want to build strong foundations, improve grades, and gain confidence.
