About Michael
I'm a highly-motivated double major at Virginia Tech with a 3.98 GPA. As I am about to complete a double major in Computer Science and Neuroscience, with a minor in Math, I have learned how to study highly effectively. Pulling from my Cognitive Neuroscience background, I have a deep understanding of the psychology of learning. I balance various cognitive principles to optimize attention -- which is critical in learning. During breaks, I am a long-term substitute at various LCPS high schools, where I had attended The Academies of Loudoun. This has taught me how to connect with students. I am also the President & Founder of the VT Club Wrestling Team. As such, I can help understand how your young athlete may think!

I work hard, developing custom lesson plans outside of class, so that your child succeeds. I think knowing the student is critical to an effective lesson. I'll start by learning about them -- what hobbies/interests they have, or what sports they play. This will help me connect with them, so that I can in turn help them connect with the material! After brief introduction, I'll ask to review the material the student has received from the teacher. By reviewing old tests or upcoming study guides, I can get an idea for what the teacher is looking for in future grading. From this, I'll develop a road map for success! While reviewing old material, I'll also identify gaps in understanding. This will help me walk them through old lessons and topics we must go over again. Only then can we catch up to speed! So, laying out the groundwork, I'll push forward by giving custom-made examples and walking through theorems and formulas. By developing an UNDERSTANDING, we can succeed together!
