About Isaac

To know me, you need to know the journey of how I got here. I have moved around a lot and lived in many places. Asking me where I am from has a complex answer. I am of Vietnamese descent and I was born in California. I used to live and go to school in Georgia and Arizona for a few years before moving to Phuket, Thailand. Thailand is where I spent the majority of my life growing up and studying at an international UWC school. My school had students from over 60 countries. As a result, I had the privilege of experiencing different cultures, exploring concepts of diversity and becoming interested in languages. I can speak 4 languages: English, Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese and Thai. My journey does not end there as I went to a university in Iowa to complete my 4-year Computer Science bachelor's degree. Now I officially moved to Oceanside and I can't wait to see what the future holds. I believe this worldly experience helps me when it comes to tutoring as I bring in an open mindset and fresh, unique perspective to teaching students. I genuinely am passionate about helping my students achieve their potential and get to points they never thought they could reach.

About the lesson

I teach using real world examples so you can relate the concepts to something you are familiar with. I truly want you to learn and will never give you the answer upfront. Instead, I will have you explain first to see what your initial thought process is and then I will guide you by starting with smaller subproblems. The end result of finally understanding yourself is very rewarding. I have experience tutoring Computer Science and Math Intro courses from middle school to college. If you need help with data structures and algorithms too, then I am the perfect tutor for you! Let's make learning fun and a bit less stressful. Remember, my job is to help you succeed with your academic goals. If you need help with university applications, I can also help with that. I started an organization at my international high school for Peer Tutoring in International Baccalaureate courses and university preparation.
