I believe in interactive sessions.
Hence to keep the class interactive, I'd first engage the student in some basic thought/problem related to the topic which would create a curiosity and first capture their attention in the session.
Them slowly unwinding using daily examples where they'd be able to apply/relate the topics, and then easing into the specifics of the topis through visual aids/cool experiments.
