About Jorge

I have been bilingual in English since childhood and for 5 years I have the C1 certificate in English and I have given private lessons to people from 13 to 18 years old. In all the years that I have been practicing the language, I have spent more than half a year in Ireland and speaking it fluently at home.

About the lesson

My classes follow a structure that depends on the student's objective (although they are 100% in English), distinguishing 2 types: For students oriented to certifying exams (Cambridge, Trinity or similar), the beginning of the class is dedicated to reviewing the exercises in the book that we are following previously marked. After this we go on to explain a somewhat more complex concept if necessary (phrasal verbs, passive voice, etc) that has been seen in the exercises. After this we see some concept of the text writing or vocabulary section, we continue with a listening exercise and we end the class with speaking or free chat exercises (talk without any specific topic or format to make the student feel more comfortable with language). For students oriented to the educational system (passing a subject or reinforcement) the key will be for the student to provide the programming that the teacher will have given them at the beginning of the course to follow a parallel work in order to enhance the work done in the classroom. To begin, we would review the exercises assigned by the teacher (it is not a question of doing them there but of correcting them and seeing if any doubt has arisen), then we would talk about the lesson that was played by the programming to see that they have understood it and to finish an exercise of speaking related to the vocabulary of the topic to give the student tools to combine those words more than simply knowing them.
