Hello there! I'm Tamryn, an enthusiastic educator with a diverse range of experiences. Currently, I hold the position of Head Librarian at a secondary school, where my primary focus centres on cultivating literacy and providing invaluable study guidance to an extensive student body of over 1800.

Why I Want to Teach

Teaching, for me, is more than just a career; it's my calling. I've discovered my true purpose in assisting individuals in unlocking their full potential, enabling them to excel academically and beyond. My journey as a Head Librarian has sharpened my ability to recognise the unique learning needs of each student, and I relish the moments when I identify the ideal study practices tailored to their distinct learning styles.

My Teaching Approach

Collaboration is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. Education is a partnership, and together, we can navigate the academic landscape effectively. I'm here to guide you, offering a patient, flexible, and adaptable approach every step of the way. Furthermore, my commitment extends to equipping my students with the tools and strategies necessary for independent study, fostering self-reliance and lifelong learning skills.

In addition to my current role, I bring a wealth of experience from my previous position as a Learning Development Mentor at the University of Northampton. There, I had the privilege of mentoring students both face to face and online, as well as in group settings. This experience has enriched my ability to connect with learners in various contexts and has deepened my appreciation for the multifaceted nature of education.

With over four years of tutoring experience, I've been guiding students since 2019 as a Learning Development Mentor. My expertise spans across various levels, from secondary school to university, and I specialise in English Literature. Additionally, I offer support in areas such as researching, referencing, time management, and CV writing, all of which are essential skills for successful university study.
