About Eleanor
Hello! I am Eleanor, a composer based in Scotland. I currently teach composition, theory, analysis, and harmony at a university as well as private theory lessons online.
I absolutely love teaching - working with people brings me so much joy. I know that everyone learns in their own way and it is my job to understand how best to tailor my lessons to you so that you can get the most out of them. Music is a subject where your individuality and creativity can truly shine and I want to help you find that, and enjoy the learning along the way!

All lessons tailored to you and what you are interested in learning. New goals will be set as you progress. Typical lessons are 60-90 minutes weekly, but get in touch if you require a more intense schedule (for example, in the lead up to an exam).
I have been teaching one-to-one sessions for 20 years and groups for 10+ years. I have experience as a university tutor, a school music teacher, a private music tutor, a composer, and a performer.
My lessons are for you if you are studying for a music exam (school/ university/ exam board) or if you are interested in learning more about music in general! I love working with people and sharing the joy of music with others.
