About Niamh
I’m a Year 13 student completing my A-Levels at the moment in English Language, Spanish and History. I would be most suited to tutor English at any level, as that is what I have the most experience with in my past tutoring as well as being the subject I have the most interest and passion in. I also have experience in working with EAL students with reading and improving their English, which I’ve really enjoyed doing in the past and would be excited to do more tutoring in that sector.

Previously, I have worked with SENCO students at younger ages (Year 3 and Year 5) and have adapted to their abilities, focus levels and most effective ways of learning. With them, I used starter activities that touched on previously known topics to give them confidence in the lesson ahead, then throughout the session, I incorporated gamified ways of learning to keep the learning fun while being effective at the same time. I ensured to motivate the students with positive reinforcement and encouragement and always listened to their worries or concerns when deciding which direction to go in for the lesson or the next one (for example, if they’re struggling more with a certain topic at school or for an exam, I would make sure to adapt and focus on that).
