About Iraani

With over 6 years of experience as a violin tutor and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Violin Performance, I bring a holistic, therapeutic approach to learning the violin. For me, the violin is more than just an instrument—it's a pathway to self-expression, emotional release, and mindfulness. My teaching focuses on musical storytelling, using sound as a tool for calm, reflection, and growth. I integrate techniques like guided improvisation, expressive journaling, and soundscape creation into lessons to help students connect with their emotions in a safe and creative way. I’ve had the privilege of working with neurodiverse learners, trauma survivors, and adult students seeking healing and self-discovery through music. My lessons are flexible and student-led, offering a non-judgmental space to explore music at your own pace. Whether you’re processing feelings, looking for peace, or simply returning to music after a long break, I’m here to support your journey. I also encourage deep listening and intuitive playing, helping you develop your unique voice on the violin. You don’t need to be perfect to make music that matters. The violin can be your companion in life, one note at a time. Let’s explore how music can help you feel more grounded, heard, and connected.

About the lesson

My violin teaching approach is warm, interactive, and always shaped around your goals. I specialise in preparing students for orchestral playing, including youth and community orchestra auditions. Whether you're learning to blend in a section or building confidence to lead, I provide focused lessons that support your growth. We’ll work on ensemble blend, following a conductor, orchestral etiquette, and managing group dynamics. I use score reading and simulated ensemble exercises to create real rehearsal conditions in our lessons. You'll learn how to listen across sections, adjust your tone, and stay rhythmically tight with others. My teaching combines technical guidance with musical awareness to make you a more responsive and confident ensemble player. I especially enjoy helping students with big musical dreams, offering support and structure that turns ambition into progress. My teaching encourages collaborative learning, precision, and musical joy. If you’re aiming for the symphony stage or want to feel more connected in your ensemble, I’m here to guide the way.
