About Tamara
Hi! I’m Tamara, a 19-year-old Communications & Media Management student with a strong passion for communication, creativity and working with people.
I am currently a top-performing student in my course, having achieved the Dean’s List and placed within the top 10% of my cohort. Beyond academics, I have also taken on leadership roles, including serving as Vice-President of my course and Vice-President of my secondary school Student Council. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication skills, patience and the ability to connect with people from different backgrounds.
I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, encouraged and genuinely supported. Rather than making lessons feel intimidating, I want to create an environment where students are happy to ask questions, make mistakes and gradually build confidence in themselves.
Whether your child needs additional support with their schoolwork, wants to strengthen their English foundation or is preparing for the PSLE, I hope to make each lesson engaging, purposeful and tailored to their individual needs.
Most importantly, I want my students to walk away from each lesson feeling a little more confident than when they started.

Teaching Style:
-I believe in creating a supportive, encouraging and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
-I use a combination of guided practice, explanation and interactive activities to make English lessons more engaging and easier to understand.
-I adapt my teaching approach according to each student’s learning pace, strengths and areas for improvement, rather than using a one-size-fits-all method.
-For younger students, I focus on building strong fundamentals in grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and writing through engaging exercises and examples.
-For students preparing for the PSLE, I place greater emphasis on exam techniques, comprehension skills, composition writing, grammar and answering strategies, while also helping students build confidence in their own abilities.
-I aim to make lessons energetic and motivating, encouraging students to participate actively rather than simply memorizing answers.
Typical length of a lesson:
-1.5 hours per lesson, allowing sufficient time to cover new concepts, practice them and review areas that the student may be struggling with.
My qualifications:
-Currently studying Communications & Media Management.
-Achieved an A in O-Level English.
-Have several years of informal teaching experience, having regularly helped and taught my younger brother in English.
-Experienced in explaining concepts patiently and adapting explanations to make them easier for younger learners to understand.
Target Range:
-Primary 1–Primary 6 students
-Suitable for students looking to strengthen their English foundations, improve their school performance or build confidence in the subject.
-Also suitable for Primary 6 students preparing for the PSLE, with lessons tailored towards exam preparation and answering techniques.
