About Lindsay
I've been volunteer tutoring since high school and began getting paid for it about six years ago. I've tutored students of all levels from elementary school through college in every kind of writing, as well as reading comprehension, study skills, ESL, and a variety of other subjects as needed. I've tutored privately and through my colleges, working with everyday students, nontraditional students, students with ADHD or other learning difficulties, and many more. I have always been thanked for my patience, optimism, and ability to clearly communicate complicated concepts, so I assume I'm doing well and I hope I will continue to be able to help people!
P.S. As a recent graduate (Communications BA and only two semesters short of a double major in English), I'm also still very familiar with both MLA and APA guidelines, if that's a concern.

Teaching, in my experience, has mostly been about nonjudgmental and informed communication. That communication must be two-way (and I promise I'm a good listener). If my first try at teaching a concept isn't working, let me know and I will find another way to communicate it. If that one doesn't work, I'll try another and another until we find a way that works for your particular learning style.
