About Jamie

My name is Jamie. I am a master's student in English and have English (Canadian) and Danish as my mother tongue. Alongside my studies, I offer private lessons in English. I have teaching experience from Canada, where I have taught students of all age groups and at many different levels.

Since I was little, I have very much enjoyed learning languages, reading and writing, and making small language games and memorization methods. My joy for the English language is an important part of my teaching style.

Besides my interest in languages, I enjoy playing the guitar, going to the gym, skating, being creative, spending time with friends and family, and travelling. I look forward to meeting you!

About the lesson

I am a flexible teacher who manages to adapt my teaching to the individual student.

This means that I can help you improve your English in the way that works for YOU, regardless of your age and level!

Some learn best through creativity and play. Others learn best by reading, practicing specific grammar, and going through the material together. Some prefer something in between. I have broad experience and enjoy putting together personal courses that benefit and motivate the student.

For instance, I have good experiences with teaching children through games, conversations based on creative activities and storytelling. My teenage students have enjoyed watching TV shows, talking about them, and doing small assignments based on the series.

I have good experiences with teaching students of all ages by creating a safe atmosphere in which the student dares and wants to use their English, in which mistakes are seen as learning opportunities, and in which the student learns English by using it.

I prioritize using teaching materials that make sense for the student, are as relevant and exciting as possible in relation to the student's own interests, and at the same time help meet their specific goals. Of course, I am also happy to use existing materials, e.g. when offering help with homework. I have done so many times when teaching school and university students.
