About Steve

Steve is an award-winning comedy writer/director from London, who loves talking about himself in the third person. Steve is part of the BFI Network x Bafta Crew 2021 cohort and has a first look development deal with Hat Trick Productions. His award-winning debut short film Swiped won the 2019 Silver and Peoples Lovie Award. It was also nominated for the Edinburgh TV Festival New Voices Award for best pilot, the 1.4 Awards and was an official selection at Palm Springs, Encounters and other Oscar & BAFTA qualifying festivals. He was recently commissioned by Channel 4 to write a sitcom pilot based on Swiped. Steve produces short form content and is developing a number of scripted projects through his production company, Offkey World. He has been nominated for the Cannes YDA producer of the year award and produced award-winning content, which has amassed millions of views. As a comedian he has performed his unique style of spoken word across the UK. Steve was a 2018 New Act Of The Year finalist and created, co-wrote and starred in the BBC Radio 4 musical sitcom Wisebowm: The Struggle Is Real, which was based on his critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe show.

About the lesson

I come from a performance background (acting, improv and stand up) and will incorporate this into our sessions. We will do an initial read through of your script before providing written notes and feedback. I can also teach you how to write and design TV industry standard treatments and pitch decks.
