Teaching literature can be exciting and challenging all at the same time. In a world where everything happens in nanoseconds and kids are constantly engaged with technology, it can be difficult to get them to engage with longer texts. It can help to introduce literature by starting with forms they're familiar with and then working up to longer texts. Then, as you delve deeper, work on the literary elements and have open discussions that encourage students to engage with the narrative.
