By combining the principles of psychology to historical events, this opens the students mind explore history from a psychological perspective rather than just political. Allowing the student to understand why something happened by exploring human behaviour of historical leaders.
Together with my student we would comply a psychological profile of say Henry VIII and explore how far his personality shaped events of his reign. The lesson would begin with students doing their own research into the personality traits of the leader then a class discussion as to how personality traits affect a person's decision. E.g. How far did the personality of Henry VIII influence his relationship with Anne Boleyn
