About Riley
I am a college student at UIC studying Public Health. Some of my values include respect, empathy, community, and equity. I enjoy working with kids. In my free time, I like going on walks outside, reading, journaling, and doing my nails!
Learning doesn’t have to be boring! I like to make sure that the student is at the center of the learning process. I teach based on their individualized wants and needs because I am here to help and make learning enjoyable. I like to make sure that students are well-prepared so I am willing to go above and beyond to help them reach their goals.

I believe that every student is capable of reaching their goals and achieving success. My approach is supportive, motivational, and student-centered. I utilize a variety of resources to aid in the learning process, whether that may be creating individualized lesson plans, making worksheets, or asking open-ended questions. Learning can also be intensive, so I like to check in with the student’s emotional needs to let them know that our tutoring session is a safe space.
Although my main interest lies in English and writing, I have worked with students from elementary school to high school in a variety of subjects ranging from biology to math.
