About Joon

I have been playing soccer for about 15 years and currently play at the college level at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Before college, I spent three years training and competing at Real Salt Lake Academy, which is one of the top youth development programs in the country. I have also played at Utah Valley University, Salt Lake Community College, and DePaul University, so I’ve experienced different levels of competitive soccer and understand what it takes for young players to keep improving.

I love working with kids and helping them build confidence, learn strong fundamentals, and enjoy the game. My goal during lessons is to create a positive and supportive environment where players feel comfortable trying new things and learning at their own pace.

Parents can expect someone who is reliable, patient, and encouraging. I always come prepared with organized sessions that focus on the basics like dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control, while also keeping the training fun and engaging for younger players.

Whether your child is just starting soccer or already playing on a team, I want to help them improve their skills, grow their confidence, and most importantly develop a love for the game.

About the lesson

My goal is to help kids improve their soccer skills while having fun and building confidence. I’m a current college soccer player at University of Wisconsin–Madison and have been playing the game for about 15 years, so I try to pass along the same skills and habits that helped me reach the college level. I keep sessions positive, encouraging, and active so kids stay engaged and enjoy learning.

My teaching style:
I focus on the fundamentals first—things like dribbling, passing, first touch, and shooting. I break skills down into simple steps and demonstrate them so kids can clearly see how to do them. Then we practice through drills and fun challenges so they get lots of touches on the ball. I like to give helpful feedback and encouragement so players keep improving and feel confident.

What a typical lesson looks like:
Most sessions are about an hour and usually include:

A quick warm-up with ball control

Skill drills (dribbling, passing, shooting, etc.)

Game-like exercises so players can use the skills in realistic situations

Fun competitions or challenges to keep things exciting

A quick recap and tips on what they can practice on their own

What makes my lessons different:
Because I currently play college soccer, I can teach players what coaches really look for and how to develop strong habits early. I also try to create a supportive and fun environment, especially for younger players, so they enjoy the game while improving.

Who the lessons are for:
My lessons are for boys and girls ages 6–14, whether they are just starting soccer or already playing on a team and want extra training. The goal is to help each player develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game.
