About Colleen
I am a lifelong native English speaker and the granddaughter of an English teacher who taught me everything she knew about the written word and effective communication. During my school career, I always excelled in written and verbal communication. I have assisted co-workers with their reading and writing skills for my entire career. I began my career as a preschool teacher, teaching young children basic literacy skills such as the alphabet and how to write their name. For the past 10 years, I worked as a social worker, where writing and communication skills are highly essential. Due to my command of the English language and my excellent written and verbal communication skills, I was sought after by many co-workers to provide assistance with written correspondence with other organizations and in-house documentation. Working with you as your tutor, I will assist you in developing these skills as you become a better writer and a better communicator in all areas of your life.

I take a very hands-on creative approach to teaching writing and English. I will use games, flashcards, word puzzles, and other creative writing activities to help you achieve your goals.
