About Gary
I am a teacher, primarily of mathematics. For 35+ years, I have been teaching, tutoring and immersing myself in several types of other kinds of employment experiences in order to more fully understand applications of mathematics. My Bachelors degree is in Mathematics Education from Montana State University, and my Masters degree in Two-Year College Mathematics is from Western Carolina University.

When working with students, I strive to provide clear, meaningful explanations that each student can connect with their personal understanding of the world. In the classroom, my goal is to help empower each student's confidence by encouraging each to take responsibility for her/his education, to own that process. As indispensable components of this design, I emphasize meaningful lessons, teamwork, collaboration and problem solving strategies - attitudes and skills that will support students in developing constructive communities.
