About Willa
I am a piano tutor with 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Musicology, specialising in Piano History. My lessons focus on jazz piano, helping students develop improvisation, comping skills, and a rich harmonic vocabulary. I emphasise holistic learning through theory, transcription, ear training, and rhythm.
Students work on crafting solos, understanding complex chords, and comping with style. Rhythmic precision and transcription practice enhance musical intuition. My approach balances technical mastery with artistic freedom.
I have taught Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate students, as well as professional jazz musicians refining their improvisation. Lessons are personalised and goal-oriented. Jazz becomes a language for creative expression and musical exploration.

My teaching approach integrates classical piano skills with modern electronic tools. Lessons cover synthesisers, digital pianos, DAWs, and recording basics. I focus on developing technical mastery and creative freedom simultaneously.
Students explore improvisation, sound design, and layering techniques. I work with The Classical Performer and The Child Prodigy to explore electronic possibilities. Lessons are hands-on and tailored to each student’s level.
Mistakes are embraced as part of growth. Experimentation is encouraged. Lessons develop both technical skill and artistic expression.
The goal is to make your piano sound bigger, fuller, and more versatile. Each session leaves students inspired, confident, and ready to explore new musical worlds.
