About Megan
I have bachelor's degrees in music education and oboe performance from Butler University. Now that I live in NYC, i am obtaining my master's degree in oboe performance at the Manhattan School of Music. I enjoy substituting for various orchestras around the city including a recent performance at Carnegie Hall in the fall! While in Indiana, I was the teaching fellow for the Butler Community Arts School and the primary oboe faculty for the Hamilton Southeastern and Avon School districts. During my time there I taught over sixty oboists ranging in age from nine to fifty. In Indiana I also enjoyed performing as a substitute oboist for six different midwest orchestras including the Carmel Symphony and the Columbus Philharmonic.

I have taught students of all ages and abilities- my youngest student was nine and the oldest was 50! My lessons are catered to the individual student, and the student is very involved in goal setting and repertoire selection. I also focus on music theory and history in my lessons to create a more well rounded performer. My younger students have gone on to perform at the collegiate level, while some of my older students have played as amateur musicians in community orchestras.
