About Anna

I’m a dedicated harpist and music educator based in New York City, currently pursuing my Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance at NYU. With over a decade of classical training and active performance experience in opera, choral, and event settings, I bring both technical expertise and real-world musicianship to my teaching. I understand that every student’s journey is unique, and I take pride in creating lessons that are thoughtful, engaging, and personalized. My approach is both professional and approachable—I’m here to support you every step of the way, not here to judge or to force a specific way of learning, whether you’re a total beginner or preparing for advanced performance goals. As an active freelance harpist in NYC, I’ve performed with groups like Regina Opera and the New York City Master Chorale, as well as for numerous weddings and private events. This practical experience helps me guide students not just in technique and repertoire, but also in developing confidence, stage presence, and musical expression. My goal is to help each student grow not just as a harpist, but as a well-rounded, confident musician doing something they love.

About the lesson

As a harp tutor, my goal is to create a supportive, structured, and inspiring learning environment where students feel confident exploring both the technical and expressive sides of music. I tailor my teaching method to each student’s individual learning style, whether they’re absolute beginners, intermediate players looking to grow, or more advanced harpists preparing for auditions or recitals.

A typical lesson might include:
- A brief warm-up (scales, finger patterns, tone exercises)
- Technical focus (etudes or exercises tailored to your current level)
- Repertoire work (pieces that match your goals and interests—classical, folk, pop, musical theater)
- Sight-reading and/or theory (as needed)
- Time for reflection and goal-setting for the next lesson
