1.Interactive Conversations: I would facilitate interactive and engaging dialogues with the student, gradually increasing the complexity of topics as their proficiency improves.
2. Vocabulary Expansion: I would introduce new vocabulary in context, using examples and visual aids to enhance understanding. We'll explore common phrases and expressions used in everyday scenarios.
3. Grammar in Context: Rather than focusing solely on grammar rules, I would teach grammar in the context of real-life sentences. This makes it easier for students to understand and apply grammatical concepts.
4. Cultural Context: Understanding the cultural aspects of language is important. I would incorporate cultural insights, customs, and etiquette to provide a holistic learning experience.
5. Practice and Feedback: Regular practice is crucial. I would assign exercises and activities for practice, and I'd provide constructive feedback to help students improve.
Typical Length of a Lesson:
Typically my lessons can range from 30 to 60 minutes. Shorter sessions may be preferable for beginners or younger learners, while more advanced students might benefit from longer sessions.
Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:
I have taught Mandarin to non-Chinese speakers in China aged from 7 to 40 years old, and I was also doing a lot of language exchange, English interpreter, and hosted amount of English learning activities.
