About Yuhua
Hi, I’m Yuhua, an undergraduate at the National University of Singapore. I achieved an A (Distinction) in GCE A-Level Chinese Language and Literature and received the award for the top student in this subject in my cohort.
I want to teach because I would like to share the learning strategies that helped me succeed and help students become more confident in Chinese. Studying Chinese language and literature has deepened my appreciation for how language conveys ideas, emotions and different perspectives.
As a student myself, I understand the importance of clear explanations and having space to ask questions. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.
Whether you hope to strengthen your foundations, prepare for examinations or express yourself more naturally, I would be happy to support you in working towards your goals.

I offer Chinese and Mandarin tuition for primary, secondary, O-Level and A-Level students, with each lesson lasting 1–1.5 hours, depending on the student’s needs and concentration level.
My approach is to build understanding and confidence through clear explanations, guided practice and constructive feedback. I begin by identifying the student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then tailor lessons to their learning pace and goals. Depending on their level, we can work on vocabulary, comprehension, composition, oral communication or Chinese literature.
For younger learners, I aim to make Chinese approachable through conversation, stories and everyday examples. For students preparing for examinations, lessons can focus on interpreting questions, organising answers and expressing ideas clearly. We will review mistakes together so students understand how to improve.
I achieved an A (Distinction) in GCE A-Level Chinese Language and Literature and received the award for the top student in this subject in my cohort. My goal is to help students develop both stronger exam skills and lasting confidence in using Chinese.
