About Ashley Eve

Hello, my name is Ashley and I’m a Childhood and Education graduate and TESOL qualified teacher and private tutor. I have a passion for child development and early language acquisition and have taught children and young people in Spain, Russia and the Middle East.
I have been teaching since 2010 in a variety of different educational settings with students of all ages and abilities.

From EYFS to Year 6 & 7+ & 11+ exams
Adult ESOL & Business English

I believe that in order for effective learning to take place, students of all ages and abilities should be given the necessary tools to feel motivated, challenged and inspired to learn in a fun and engaging way. I work hard to build a rapport with all my students, identifying their needs and future targets, taking all of that into account I aim to support them in building their skillset, enhancing their knowledge and improving their confidence and self-esteem in putting into practice what they have learned.

As a tutor, I am able to identify the strengths and areas for improvement of each of my students and plan with their needs and targets accordingly. The most important goal for me is to provide the students with inclusive opportunities to enhance their knowledge so that they can strive to reach their full academic potential. I believe that learning should be enjoyable yet challenging for my students and it is my aim to foster their enthusiasm for learning through interactive games, challenges and inquiry based projects.

Classes focus on receptive and productive skills through a range of tasks including; pronunciation practice, phonics sounds & stories, reading comprehension, book club, film reviews, structured writing and writing skills, science investigations and spelling and grammar.

I am familiar with IELTS, Cambridge English exams and ESOL SELT for resettlement and citizenship.

About the lesson

My lessons are 1 hour in duration and below is an example of what is involved in each lesson:

Specific vocabulary, reading and writing comprehensions, oral discussion, teacher-student challenges, role-play practice, peer project between students and a home task.

Most lessons will follow a planned structure of themes each week, however some lessons will be taught with a focus on exam prep per student request.

I have a Bachelors degree in Childhood and Education Studies, a TESOL Certificate as well as other certifications including child protection, internet safety, working with SEN learners etc.

My lessons are for primary aged pupils 4 - 12 years old who already speak English fluently and just need extra support, students aged 4 - 17 years who have English as an additional language and are studying for proficiency tests and Adults who need ESOL tuition for a specific purpose. I am able to structure all my lessons to suit all ages and abilities.
