About Cait

I'm a professional musician and lifelong learner. Since graduating, I have been lucky to spend the last few years teaching students from ages 4 to 50. I love getting to know each student and helping them to build lasting skills and knowledge; you won't find any band-aid fixes here! Beyond teaching, I enjoy playing chamber and orchestral music as well as dipping my toes into the jazz and musical theater scene. Music has always been the biggest part of my life, and you can frequently find me learning a new instrument or composing at my piano. B.M. Oberlin Conservatory

About the lesson

My approach as an educator centers around foundational skills and Suzuki principles. In addition to emphasizing the fundamental skills of string playing, I believe that learning the 'why' behind what we are playing via music theory is just as important as being able to play the music itself. Meeting each student where they are at is my first priority -- helping to achieve their goals, designing a practice program that works best for them, building upon existing strengths, and supporting weaknesses unique to each person. All students are welcome, from complete beginners to experienced musicians.
